Lucille B. Whitney, age 98, passed away on January 5, 2017 at Wellsville Retirement Community, Wellsville, Kansas.

Lucille was born March 13, 1918 to James and Ada (Bell) Huston in Paola, Kansas. She married Milford L. Whitney on December 9, 1938. They were blessed with three children.

Lucille was a homemaker, a wonderful cook and a very sassy lady. She will be sadly missed.

Lucille was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sisters Louise Cartwright and LaVern Oram; brothers Leroy “James” Huston and Larry Huston; and grandchildren Chris Richardson and Nicki Richardson. She is survived by her children Gene Whitney (Sue) of Osawatomie, KS, Linda Smith of Summerville, SC; and Brenda Vickers (Jerry) of Wellsville, KS; sister Lela Sharp of Fontana, KS; grandchildren Doug Whitney, Keith McDaniel (Jamie), and Jeff Richardson and step grandchildren Brett Vickers (Cheryl) and Diana Lawrenz.
