Michael Thomas Everhart, “Tank” to all his friends and family, 29, died unexpectedly June 14, 2015. He was the youngest of three children born to Alan & Lisa (Peuser) Everhart.

Michael was born June 15, 1985, in Merriam, KS at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. He grew up in Paola and graduated from Paola High School in 2003. He then went to Pittsburg State University and obtained his bachelor degree in Science Technology, 2007.

Michael started his career at Reno’s Powersports in the Parts department. In July 2008, he went to work at Shawnee Cycle Plaza, working in sales and parts. He made lifelong friends there and loved helping his customers. In November 2014, he started a new career with Elliott Insurance Group in Paola. He was thrilled to be working in Paola, his hometown and learning his father’s profession.

Michael, married the love of his life, his bestest friend Dee Dee Kettler on April 11, 2015 in Paola. He and Dee Dee enjoyed many years together celebrating life and making memories before their marriage. They were looking forward to raising a family in the town he loved .

Michael had a huge heart and loved his family and friends and being with them. He enjoyed working on motors and tinkering in the garage. Michael had a love for all things automotive and spending time with his friends on the lake “Chillin’ the most”. Michael’s motto was “Keep on Keepin’ On” and while we do just that, he will be missed by many.

Michael was preceded in death by his brother, Mark and his nephew, Nicholas.

Survivors include his wife, Dee Dee Everhart, parents, Alan & Lisa Everhart, all of Paola, sister Gretchen (Kyle) Kellner, nephews, Brady & Cooper, Spring Hill; sister-in-law, Ruth and nieces, Ashley & Emery, in-laws, Paul & Tammy Kettler, Heather (John) Bueker, Jay, McKenna, & Gabe and Makayla, all of Paola,and many other relatives and a lifetime of friends.

Memorials may be sent to Penwell Gabel in memory of Michael to the Lungevity Foundation or Heads Up Organization.
