Doris M. Fagg, age 88, passed away July 12, 2015 at Olathe Medical Center.

Doris was born April 21, 1927 to Nathaniel and Letha (Alderson) Wright in Blairstown, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Jene Carlson on May 24, 1946 in Kansas City, Kansas. They had a son Gerald “Jerry”. This marriage ended in divorce. She married Clifford “Tony” Fagg on August 23, 1952 in Kansas City, Kansas. They had two daughters, Lana and Lori.

Doris worked for USD #368 in the kitchen vegetable department while the girls were young. She worked at Sutherlands Shopping Center as a fabric sales clerk from 1975 to 1990.

Doris was an extraordinary seamstress. She sewed clothes for her children and grandchildren and made quilts and wall hangings. She was a member of the Miami County Quilt Guild and was selected Miami County Quilt Guild Quilter of Year in 2002. She had a quilting machine in her home and quilted quilts for many fellow quilters. She participated in the Miami County Diabetes Association and Support Group. She belonged to First Baptist Church and enjoyed her Sunday school group.

Doris loved to play cards and played in several card groups several days a week. She would never pass up a card game. She shared her love of sewing with 4-H’ers for many years as clothing leader in the Busy Beavers and Victory 4-H clubs.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brother Donald Wright. She is survived by her son Gerald “Jerry” Carlson of Cabot, AR; daughters Lana Kettler (Chris) of Paola, KS and Lori Stephens (George) of Moran, KS; ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
