Paul K. Calahan, 89, passed away December 28, 2015, in Paola, Kansas at North Point Nursing Home.

He was born March 25, 1926 in Cadmus, Kansas and was raised in Paola, Kansas. He served in the Navy from 1944-1946 as a shipfitter on the USS Lander in the Pacific and was honorably discharged.

He married Elvera Minden of Paola in 1949. They were married for 65 years. Paul worked for the Marley Company from 1952-1988 as a welder and later performed maintenance on large computerized machines.

He enjoyed camping and fishing with his family and friends. He was a devoted gardener and was especially proud of his tomatoes which he sold curbside from his yard for many years. Never losing his affinity for working with machines, he continued to tinker throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his wife Elvera, a son Michael, and his parents.

Surviving are three sons, Ron, Richard and James Calahan, 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
