Nolan Dean Istas, age 62, of Lane, Kansas passed away on July 9, 2014 unexpectedly at his home.

Nolan was born September 6, 1951 in Concordia, Kansas to Albert and Hazel Dull Istas. Nolan served in the Ottawa Army National Guard from 1970 to 1976 and was honorably discharged as a Specialist Four for Battery C 2D Battalion 130th Field Artillery. He worked as a machinist for Marley Cooling Towers Company in Olathe and worked as a machinist for Boeing Company in Seattle, Washington for 25 years before his retirement.

His hobbies were fishing, and shooting, and he enjoyed getting on the internet and visiting with friends and family. Nolan enjoyed being in the outdoors. He also enjoyed Mt. Rainier in Washington while living there. He will be dearly missed by family and friends.

Nolan is survived by his son Christopher Dean Istas of Paola, KS; two sisters Donnis Haight and husband Roger and Shirley Higginbotham and husband Harley; granddaughter Crische Istas; step granddaughters Kiel Jahr, Sara Manns, and Rachel Manns; ex-wife Evelyn Larrabbe and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
