Kenneth W. Windisch, 87, Paola, died November 8, 2014 at Life Care Center of Osawatomie. Kenneth was born in Louisburg on August 22, 1927 one of ten children to George Allen and Della Belle Starry Windisch.
He grew up on the family farm outside of Louisburg. He attended the Bellview country school and graduated from Louisburg High School class of 1947. At 17 years old, he enlisted in the United States Navy.

He was married on July 7, 1951 to Mary Catherine Seck. Together had four children, Steven Wayne, Gary Allen, Sheri Marie, and John Paul.
He worked as a mechanic for Brown Motor Company and Rosner Garage in Louisburg. In 1952 he began working for Kansas City Power & Light as a tree trimmer, advancing to lead lineman before retiring in 1989.

Kenneth was a member of the American Legion of Paola. Kenneth and Mary were charter members of the Twin Rivers camping club. He loved music, attending many music shows and dancing. He loved the outdoors, camping, fishing, hunting and gardening. He never met a stranger, having conversations with many and helping anyone that needed help.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, siblings and a son.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary, their three children, Steve Windisch (Jackie) of Paola, Gary Windisch of Fontana, and Sheri Maimer (Richard) of Paola; eleven grandchildren, Kyle Windisch (Jasmyn), Diane Flerlage (Ryan), Kristina Sullivan (Tim), Greg Windisch (Christine), Katherine Windisch, Casey Kelley (Justin), Joe Windisch, Shawn Windisch (Clarissa), Trudie Maimer, Tiffany Maimer and Wesley Windisch; and five great grandchildren, Madison Flerlage, Trenton Sullivan, Mason Flerlage, Tyler Sullivan and Jayden Cross; a sister, Zelma Wicks of Excelsior Springs, MO; nieces and nephews, and many friends.

Memorial contributions may be may to Alzheimer's Association or Heartland Hospice.
