Lou Minden, 78, passed away peacefully with family by her side at her home in Paola, Kansas on January 13, 2015.

Lou was 1 of 8 children born to Ira and Pearl Close in Green Forest, Arkansas.

From Lou’s previous marriage, she had three daughters Barbara Goyer, Betty Tanner of Stillwater, OK and Bonnie Seigler of CA. Lou married Ray Minden on December 30, 1961. This marriage was blessed with three children Anita Goodall, Kelley Casida, and Ralph Minden all of Paola, KS. Ray and Lou had been married 53 years. They were blessed years. During her working years, she was a waitress, seamstress, and retail clerk. She had managed the family owned liquor store for 19 years when she retired.

Lou’s lifelong hobbies were gardening, bowling, camping, reading, doing crossword puzzles, and playing games with the family. Most of all, she loved to cook for her family.

Lou was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Red, David, Jim, and Bill; and a sister Sue. She is survived by her husband Ray; daughters Barbara Goyer, Betty Tanner, Bonnie Seigler, Anita Goodall, and Kelley Casida; son Ralph Minden; sister Ann Buxton, and brother Rollie Close.
