Robert C. Chester, 82, of Paola, Kansas, passed away on October 12, 2016 at Olathe Hospice House, Olathe, Kansas.

Bob was born in Paola on March 11, 1934. He was the third of six children born to Lee P. Chester and Helen A. Potts Chester. He grew up in Paola and graduated from Paola High School. He later joined the U. S. Army.

After serving, he went to work for Cliff Lee as a carpenter and later had his own building and remodeling business. He built and remodeled many homes in the area. He was a good carpenter and took pride in his workmanship.

Bob was known as Uncle Tuffy to his nieces and nephews. Uncle Tuffy built small work benches for the nieces and nephews and many of his great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

Uncle Tuffy lived with and took care of his parents until their deaths. He remained in the family home of 104 years.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Howard L. Chester and Donald L. Chester. He is survived by his sisters Lois Richards, Nancy Head and Carolyn Bennett; 18 nieces and nephews and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Uncle Tuffy will be dearly missed by all.
