Rose Bud Buchanan Miller passed away November 6, 2016 at the Parkview Heights Care Facility, Garnett, Kansas.(Cremation)

Rose Bud Buchanan was born December 11, 1915 to WJ and Maggie Erps Buchanan in Tripp County, South Dakota. The youngest of eight children, she was named by an Indian lady on the Rosebud Indian Reservation. She was a 1934 graduate of Paola High School. She married Glen Henry Miller on August 1, 1937. They were blessed with two children, son, JD Miller and daughter, Glenna Miller Murray. Her husband Glen died in 1968.

Rose was a hard worker, working at the Osawatomie State Hospital, Braymore Coat Factory, Miami County hospital, USD 368 Food Service and the Foster Grandparent Program until the age of 93. She survived breast cancer twice!

Rose loved her friends and family; playing games, puzzles, church work and teaching Sunday school. She had visited most of the 50 states including Alaska and Hawaii and traveled to eight European countries.

Surviving are son JD Miller (Betty) of Crockett, TX, daughter Glenna Murray (Kent) of Garnett, KS, five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside memorial celebration for her 101st birthday is at noon Sunday, December 11, 2016 at Osawatomie Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Breast Cancer Foundation, Foster Grandparents Program, Meals on Wheels, or Paola United Methodist Church.
