On Valentines Day, February 14, 2017, the love story of Kenneth and Lucille Cox started again.

Lucille Cox, age 82, of Paola, Kansas, passed peacefully Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Osawatomie Life Care Center. Her husband, of 60 years, Kenneth, preceded her in death on September 8, 2015.

She was born June 15, 1934 at Shawnee, Kansas. She was the fifth of six children born to Alvin and Minnie (Flaspohler) Hagedorn. She attended St. Joseph School at Shawnee, Kansas.

Lucille and Kenneth were united in marriage on June 11, 1955 in St. Joseph's Church at Shawnee, Kansas. They moved to Paola and became the parents of one daughter, Sherry.

Lucille made her career 60 years in the banking business working for Miami County National Bank, Team Bank and Great Southern Bank in Paola. She had knowledge of many departments and became Vice President of Team Bank. She loved all her customers and carried that friendship out of the workplace checking on and helping in any way. Her customers are the ones that kept her returning to work every day for those memorable 60 years of her working life.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Lucille was very active in the Fall Church Bazaar. She had also been a member of the Shamrock Club.

Her compassion and generosity will be celebrated, remembered, and missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one brother Hank Hagedorn, and two sisters Marlene Van Nieuwenhuyse and Virginia Klink.

She is survived by her daughter Sherry of rural Osawatomie; two sisters Judy Miller (Ron) of Louisburg and Ruth Setter (Dave) of Garnett; four grandchildren Jake, Chase (Denise), Chelsie, and Chance (Chelsea) Doherty; five great grandchildren Braeden, Addalyn, Maddex, Brooks, and Quinnlyn Doherty; many other relatives and friends.
