Kassandra Lee Wright, age 32, of Paola, Kansas passed away on February 19, 2017.

She was born February 12, 1985, in Topeka, Kansas to Roger D. and Glenda S. (Hicks) Wright. She attended elementary through high school in Paola, graduating from PHS in 2003. Kassandra studied one year at Baker University before transferring to Emporia. At Emporia University, she studied Health Promotion and graduated with her Bachelor's Degree from Emporia State University in 2009. She received her Masters of Science in Exercise Physiology Degree in 2013.

In 2009, she moved to Dallas, TX before moving to Austin, where she lived for several years. She recently returned home to Paola.

Kassandra enjoyed working in the health and fitness field and helping others to pursue and meet their goals. She was a black belt in both Karate and Tae Kwon Do. Kassie always enjoyed her martial arts.

Kassandra was a member of Life Mission Church in Olathe, Kansas. Kassie was very active at Life Mission. She felt blessed to be able to volunteer her time in many different aspects of the church.

She savored spending time being active, in the outdoors, and with her family, especially her nephew and niece.

Perhaps her greatest passion was her love for animals, particularly those in need. She spent her entire life rescuing, adopting, and caring for animals who needed it most.

She will be remembered most for the way she genuinely loved everyone she met unconditionally. She could see the good in every person and in every animal. Her kind and gentle soul, contagious laugh, and bright smile will be forever in our hearts.

Survivors include her parents Roger and Glenda Wright, of Paola, KS, sister Kristine (Wright) Herron, brother-in-law Adam, nephew Auggie, and niece Rosie of Paola, KS, brother, Taylor Wright of Lexington Park, MD, and a host of extended family that meant the world to her.

She was preceded in death by several grandparents, aunts, and uncles. Also, her very special canine babies Audia, Lucky, Molly, and Shawnee.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Kassandra Wright Memorial Fund, may be left at or mailed to Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 305 N. Pearl St., Paola, KS, 66071.
