The loss of someone dear to us is never easy. I am so sorry to learn of the loss of your Kassandra. I want to share a poem with all of you by Helen Steiner Rice.
LIFE IS ETERNAL
Life is eternal, the good Lord said,
So do not think of your loved one as dead,
For death is only a stepping stone
TO A BEAUTIFUL LIFE WE HAVE NEVER KNOWN.
A PLACE WHERE GOD PROMISED MAN HE WOULD BE
ETERNALLY HAPPY AND SAFE AND FREE.
A WONDERFUL LAND WE WILL LIVE ANEW
WHEN OUR JOURNEY ON EARTH IS OVER AND THROUGH,
SO TRUST IN GOD AND DOUBT HIM NEVER
FOR ALL WHO LOVE HIM LIVE FOREVER.
AND WHILE WE CAN NOT UNDERSTAND
JUST LET OUR LORD TAKE YOUR HAND.
FOR WHEN DEATH'S ANGEL COMES TO CALL
"GOD IS SO GREAT AND WE'RE SO SMALL".
AND THERE IS NOTHING YOU NEED FEAR
FOR FAITH IN GOD MAKES ALL THINGS CLEAR.
May the love of Kassie and the love of all those who love her forever be woven together. I pray for strength and peace for each of you. Shane Hicks' mom

Roger, Glenda, Kristie and Family & Taylor ~ Words cannot express how sorry I am for the loss of Kassie. I am keeping you all very close in my prayers and wishing you the peace only God can grant! Much love ~
~ Carma Rockers - February 26, 2017
Kassie and I were good friends growing up. I have a lot of memories with her. My favorites were playing outside in the woods, at the pond and having adventures with the dogs in the creek. We'd have sleepovers and stay up late into the night laughing... I remember her as a kind, adventurous and loving person with a strong and passionate spirit. I appreciate her sharing about her strong faith in Jesus and was inspired recently by her posts about how much she loved her church and the verses she was sharing.... I hope your family finds peace and healing knowing she is home with Jesus and we'll all be together soon. This world is full of brokenness and was only meant to be temporary. Our hope and joy comes from God, and He knows our suffering. Hold tight to His promises. He will be faithful.
Sending love and prayers to your family,
Emily Holscher

Exceptional Rare was the Blooming Rose developed within wilted pedals.. The Strength that she omitted by the shine of her Beauti.. Glowed !!... Beyond the appearance of what any other would focus on or even come to settle... . Above Elegant was the Gorgeous sight of this Flower above her rooted threshold.. It's never a mistake for the calling.. Yet.. I find it so hard to let go??... It was truly a blessing to have known this Angel.. Until the last tick of the clock will it be My Pleasure to treasure the experience of her at her best Angles.. I hold and express this Smile for your Love and extend my Arms in passionate hope that on day I'll get those lost Hugs.. I pray that at that moment all is as calm and as it is still.. A moment I will never let go no matter our Lord's Will.. #A Sweet Sweet Rose that will 4ever be missed ????

We are deeply saddened by the loss of Kassie, we didn't personally know her only her parents, but from what people have been sharing, she was a very special young lady. Our thoughts and prayers are with Kassie's family. She had been in our son's gifted class and they graduated together.

I am her aunt Catherine Hicks, and she is a very special niece in my life. She was very out going and loved life to the fullest. Katie was one of many that was on Facebook with me and I could keep up with her. I will miss her dearly and all her wonderful pictures she shared with me. Love you wonderful niece. Rest in peace baby girl.

The memory that reminds me of the great heart she had was when she invested so much time and effort into rescuing what others just saw as an old stray dog that was living under an abandoned house in the neighborhood. She took "Shawnee" in, bathed her, groomed her, fed her and gave her a home. Kassandra''s compassion for animals was second to none. Saying that she will be missed is an understatement. Fly free, Kassandra.

Steve and I are so sadden to hear of your loss. Your family are in our prayers.

Roger, Glenda, Taylor and Herron family,
I first knew Kassie as an 8th grader when I was working with Mari Tetwiler in the the Gifted Program at Paola Middle School. Even then she was a spirited, spunky girl who knew EXACTLY what she wanted out of life and was determined to follow her dreams... In recent years i have reconnected with the family as my son Paul and his family are quite close with Adam and Kristi Herron; Kassie's sister and brother in law. Hard for me to accept that she is gone...I also remember her being one of the first to comfort me, as she shed tears, when my husband Paul was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer...she'd had him for a teacher and they had built a strong bond. You will be missed sweet girl...may you find eternal peace! Carol Sandburg
~ Carol Sandburg - February 21, 2017

Kass,
Your love for God was absolutely amazing. I still remember the day you responded to an alter call at Life Mission Church and were saved. It was such a pleasure to see your faith grow from then on. We shared many stories and confided in each often. I know in my heart you are in paradise with Jesus. Thank you for being the amazing woman you are. You will be greatly missed by me and so many others! My heart and my prayers go out to you and the Wright family.
~ Rusty Thorpe - February 21, 2017
Kassie touched the lives of all the students and staff at Central Ks Dream Center in a mighty way through her smile, determination, love for God and love for others. She inspired others and would encourage them to stretch themselves. We honor the life of Kassandra Wright.
~ Kimberly Becker - February 21, 2017
My thoughts are with your entire family. Kassie will always be the spunky cheerleader to me!
~ lisa collier - February 21, 2017
Kassie was a great worker and a fine young lady. Always looking to help people and pets. When my oldest daughter moved from Emporia to Lawrence, Kassie asked if she could help. She put my wife and I to shame with her work ethic and physical strength. We had to move a huge sleeper sofa up 4 fights of stairs. My wife and I took one end and she said she could get the other. Up she went like it was nothing. With her help, we got all the move done in one day. She had the same enthusiasm at the clinic.
I have no answer to why God would take her home this early. This I do know, God is good. He is good all the time. When we see him face to face, Kassandra will be there too. So we grieve, but not as those who have no hope. Our family is lifting you up in prayer.
~ Dr. Floyd Dorsey - February 21, 2017
Kassie was a genuine sweet person. She radiated warmth through her smile that made you feel at ease.
I am so Thankful I had to go to Fulk so much last year and got the opportunity to talk to her so often (at least once a week). We would chat for a while after every appointment about anything. It was nice reconnect.
I am so glad Kassie developed her relationship with God. I know you are in paradise with our Lord.
Love to you Kassie and your family,
Lorene (Wright) Anderson

Kassandra rented a room from my husband & I in Austin. I remember the first day we met her. She loved her animals and was one of the most genuine people I met. I enjoyed having her live with us. Easy to connect with, our pets liked each other and we both enjoyed having a clean house and going for hikes. We'd both go home for lunch at times and talk about our crazy days at work and how cute our animals were. She was a gentle soul, fragile yet strong. I admired her passion for helping those in need. She was a beautiful person. I'm so thankful she found God and knows how incredibly much she is loved by Him. Prayers for her family, whom she loved very much. She always talked about her family and how much she missed them when she was in TX. I'm deeply saddened. You were a rare gem, Kassandra.
~ April Tsang - February 21, 2017
Kassie was a beautiful woman, sweet and wonderful. I met her at SRC where we all worked. I was sad when she moved away. She had dreams and ambitions and could do anything. God rest her soul and hope her next journey is wonderful.
~ Rian Reese - February 21, 2017
I can't imagine what you all are going through. Kassie was the first person I really got to know when we moved to Paola last Feb. I met her through Fulk Chiropractic. She was very kind and helpful. I always looked forward to seeing her. She will be missed.

Kassie was always such an amazing soul. She was always willing to help. Sorry for your loss.

Kass, I am stunned that you are gone. I didn't have a close relationship as your cousin over the course of many years. Over the last 6 months we started to talk and share some very personal life experiences. You trusted me with a lot of secrets and information. I just talked with you last Thursday. Now another family member is gone. I send my condolences to her family. I want to express my sincerest sorrow to my aunt Sue, Roger, Taylor and Kristine . No words can comfort this loss.
Sincerely
Your cousin R. Shane Hicks
