Robert Roy Hayes of Paola, Kansas passed away on November 16, 2015 at Olathe Hospice House. He was born in Spokane, Washington on February 6, 1956 to Raymond and Doris Hayes. His younger years were spent in Corde De Lane, Idaho before his family moved to Kansas. He attended Paola High School where he graduated in 1974. After high school, he attended Pittsburg State University, then a vocational school, where he received a degree in welding. He worked as a welder for a short time then went to work in the oil fields as a driller for many years.

Robert married Susan Hoffman, of Paola, Kansas in 1975. They were married for 25 years until Susan passed away in June of 2000. He enjoyed fishing, boating, riding motorcycles, and spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Susan Hayes, his son, Lance Hayes, his father Raymond Hayes, and his brother Ronald Hayes.

He is survived by his mother Doris Hayes of Paola, Kansas, three brothers and a sister: Richard Williams of Paola, Kansas, Randy Hayes of Hillsdale, Kansas, Russell Hayes, Sr. of Paola, Kansas, and Rita Spence of Olathe, Kansas, his grandsons Isaac and Alex Hayes along with their mother Natalie Scherman of St. Louis, Missouri, his stepson Jess Louk of Tampa, Florida along with his wife, Tabitha and eight children. Robert is also survived by four nephews and two nieces.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Olathe Hospice House for their care for Robert during his final days.
