Ecle Charles Morgan age 86, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 3, 2016. Ecle was born in Somerset, Kansas on Oct. 10, 1929 to Charles and Jessie Smith Morgan where he attended Somerset School until 8th grade.

In 1951, he was drafted into the U. S. Army where he served in the Korean War and received several medals which include Korean Combat Service Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, two bronze stars and one silver bar. Ecle was returned home in 1953 after receiving a purple heart.

Ecle worked as a farmer in Bucyrus, Kansas for 40 years before retiring, after which he worked on small engines, before moving back to Somerset, Kansas. His favorite hobbies were fishing, playing cards and being with family and friends.

Preceding Ecle in death was one son Charles “Chuck” Morgan, one sister and two brothers. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Sharon Zebert Morgan; two daughters Denise Oehlert (Ken) and Cherise Nitchals (Dave); seven grandchildren, Michael Langley, Mitchell Langley (Kristi), Jeremy Oehlert, Maria Troxell (Shane), Lindsay Ebenstein (Robert), Kendra Stuteville (Dustin) and Ashlee Ross (Bryan) and 11 great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Olathe Hospice or Louisburg Baptist Temple.
