Clifford J. “Jerry” Scherman, 85, of Paola, passed away February 13, 2013 at Villa St. Francis in Olathe, KS after a battle with Alzheimer’s and lung cancer.

Jerry, the youngest son of Andrew and Ethel Honn Scherman, was born August 19, 1927 in Paola, KS. Attended school and was a lifelong resident of Paola.
Jerry was in the United States Navy from 1945 to 1946. He married Lucille Porter February 6, 1948. He was a farmer, carpenter, and a rural mail carrier. His hobbies included woodworking, collecting John Deere memorabilia, reading, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was an active member of Holy Trinity Church in Paola.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, five sisters, and one son Daniel Joseph Scherman.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years Lucille, Stephen (Marcia) Scherman of Lane, KS, Fred L. (Katie) Scherman of Paola, Geralyn (Daniel) Feuerborn of Scipio, KS, Tom (Peggy) Scherman of Paola, Ruth Scherman of Paola, 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to Villa St. Francis in Olathe, KS or Catholic Hospice.
