Jerry Lee Grandon, age 81, of rural Paola, Kansas, died January 30, 2014 at the Olathe Medical Center.

Jerry was born October 19, 1932 at Louisburg, Kansas. He was the second of four sons born to James Roy and Ruby Alvena (Nelson) Grandon. He grew up in Louisburg and graduated from Louisburg High School with the Class of 1949. Jerry had been inducted into the Louisburg High School Athletic Hall of Fame.

On October 15, 1950 at Chiles, Kansas, in the Elm Grove Baptist Church Jerry and Alice Mathis were united in marriage. To this union, five children were born. They made their home in Louisburg for one year before moving to their farm at rural Paola where they have resided for 60 years.

Jerry worked as a pipefitter with Local #533 and retired in 1992. He also raised limousin cattle on his farm.

His hobbies were many. First and foremost was his family. He thoroughly enjoyed time spent with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He also enjoyed fishing with all his kids and his fishing buddies.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson Jason Grandon, and one brother Don Grandon.

He is survived by his wife Alice of the home; his daughter Debbie Watrous of Louisburg; four sons Dennis (Janis) and Scott (Jodi) of Paola, Steve (Daphne) of Kansas City, Missouri, and Rick (Jacque) of Shreveport, Louisiana; two brothers Dale Grandon of Loveland, Colorado and Bob Grandon of Louisburg; 17 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
