Alice, Debbie and Family~ I did not know until now that Jerry had passed. I don't live in the Paola area anymore so I receive news often late. I wanted to offer my condolences to you and your family. I know Mom would want to offer her condolences also but Alzheimer's has taken her memory away.
I still think of Sunday mornings at Sunday school with Ma Mathis at Elm Grove Baptist and spending afternoons with my Mom and Ma and Pa Mathis sitting in the backyard visiting with one another.

Alice, and family...I've recently learned of Jerry's passing. I harbor many memories of spending quality time with you and Jerry, as well as your side of our extended family. It all began many years ago visiting Uncle Roy and Aunt Ruby, in Louisburg. Then came the numerous Thanksgiving gatherings at your place in the countryside. Those traditional front-yard football games are a very special memory for me. My family and I extend our condolences to each of you, and hope that God has brought together each of our family members who have gone on before us. Please take care, Mark, Linda, and Ethan Bettes

As a forester with the Kansas Forest Service, I got to know Jerry through his lifelong friend, Wilford Sinclair. Jerry was a very kind and special person, and loved to plant and graft trees. The many trees that he established over the years will hopefully grow to be stong and upright features within the landscape, just like Jerry, and serve as a living legacy for generations to come. I will truly miss visiting and laughing with Jerry and know that I am a better person for having known him.
My Deepest Sympathy To Family and His Many Friends
~ - February 3, 2014
My experiences working with Jerry were always good. I remember him having a gentle calm attitude about the work and that made everything seem a little easier than it was. My deepest sympathy to the family for your loss.

Hang onto the memories, you have a bunch, hopefully they will get you through the tough times, may in rest in peace, he will truly be missed.

To, Alice and Family; I am very sorry for you loss and the void it is going to leave in all your lives. What a great example he will be leaving for all the family and many others to follow. He was a legend at Louisburg High school especially as a football player. I was very proud to be a part of the celebration when his team was honored, several years ago, by the Endowment Association. Kevin spent many good times at the farm and I know Jerry was all part of it. Kevin always had stories about all the big fish Jerry had in the pond. I will always have fond memories of all the baseball games we attended. Please accept our sympathy, from the Murray Family. Gm
