Henrietta Lawrence, 84, formerly of Hillsdale, Kansas died February 16, 2014 at North Point Skilled Nursing Facility.

Henrietta was born August 26, 1929 in Hickman Mills, Missouri to Henry Jacob and Katharina “Katie” Theobald. She attended school and graduated from Bucyrus Rural High School in 1947.

She married Winfred Dow Lawrence on September 12, 1947 at Miami County Courthouse. They became the proud parents of four children, one son and three daughters.

Henrietta worked for the Smith Clothing Factory in Paola for 17 years and King Radio/Allied Signal in Paola, Ottawa, and Lawrence, KS, retiring in 1994.

She was a loving mother and caregiver. She loved to crochet, embroidery, cross-stitch and sew clothes for herself and her children and grandchildren. She made the warmest comforters. Every year her children and grandchildren would get a hand-made ornament for their Christmas trees. She loved her family dearly and treasured every minute she had with them.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Winfred Lawrence, her parents, 2 brothers Louis and Leo Theobald, 1 nephew Louis Theobald, Jr. and 1 great granddaughter.

She is survived by her children Shirley Smith (Jerry) of Pleasanton, KS, Henry “Bud” Lawrence of Pleasanton, KS, Mary Graham of Mound City, KS, and Katie Scherman (Fred) of Paola, KS; a nephew Robert Theobald of Peculiar, MO; 10 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and 3 step-great grandchildren.
