Henry Brewer age 93, of Shell Knob, Missouri, formerly of Paola, Kansas, passed away November 1, 2014 at Hospice of Olathe Medical Center, Olathe, Kansas.

Henry was born November 4, 1920, at Baldwin City, Kansas, the son of Thuda Russell and Carrie Nell (Wright) Brewer. Henry attended school in Green Forest, Arkansas.

He was united in marriage on November 5, 1942 to Ferne Louise Beck at Paola, KS.

He spent his working years as a farmer raising Angus cattle and crops. He always had a huge garden, sharing his bounty of vegetables with family and friends.

Henry and Ferne loved RVing, wintering in Arizona from 1979 until the last five years when his health no longer allowed it. He loved the outdoors. He also enjoyed reading, especially westerns. He was an avid rockhound hunter. Fishing, camping, and boating were included in his other outdoor activities. Henry never met a stranger having conversations with people that he didn't even know like he had known them forever. He was the favorite uncle to many nieces and nephews as well as favorite father, grandfather, and great grandfather to his family.

He was preceded in death by his wife Ferne Louise Brewer who died September 11, 2003, his parents, an infant son, 9 brothers, and 4 sisters.

Survivors include his two daughters Charlotte McAnerney (John) of Wellsville, KS and Karen Lucas (James) of Paola, KS; one sister Pauline Mitchell of Nowata, Oklahoma; five grandchildren Shawn Cook, Tamara Stadter, Shannon Roseberry, Richard Stadter, Jr., and Alicia Barbour; six great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; many other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Hospice of Olathe Medical Center.
