David M. Cheasbro, age 86, passed away peacefully at his home on January 15, 2015.

David was born July 27, 1928 in Lisle, Missouri to Ernest and Della Cheasbro. He was in sales early on in his life. He sold magazines door to door in all the states except two, Maine and Alaska, as he would say.

He was united in marriage to the lovely Dolores Scalzo on May 11, 1957 in Ringo, Georgia and they moved to Paola in 1961. He worked for Jewel Tea Company for some time before starting D & J Motors with his wife Dolores in 1974, which was their business for 37 years.

David loved visiting with people at the dealership and talking about his life’s memories. He was a proud veteran having served his country in the Korean War from 1951 to 1953.

David was preceded in death by his wife Dolores Cheasbro who passed away in August 2007, his parents, and brother Raymond. He is survived by his four daughters Patti Peak, Linda Parr (Kelly), Debbie Moore (Kenny), and Cindy Moore all of Paola; his one son David Landrum (Rachel) of Winter Park, FL, whom he was blessed to be re-united with in 2008; one sister Dorothy Bennett of Paola; brother Leonard Cheasbro (Ann) of Ottawa; ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Legion or VFW.
